To be able to create a basic chart based on your tags (indicators or outcomes) and grantees, first make sure you have either reports or surveys linked to grants and grantees and tagged, and that tags are present in Tag Review. You should have grants and grantee data available in ImpactMapper and correctly associated with each of the surveys or reports where tags are present.
To create a chart, go to Charts, then click on Create Chart. Depending on where you want the tag data mapped (X or Y axis), you can start by selecting the tags you'd like charted on the appropriate axis (we will use X axis in our example). Once your tags are selected, you will see a chart showing a count of the occurrences for each of the tags you selected.ย
At the bottom left of your screen you can choose from one of the following options:
Total occurrences
Grantees count
Grantees %
Grantees count (Tag Group)
Grantees % (Tag Group)
Grants count
Grants %
Grants count (Tag Group)ย
Grants % (Tag Group)
Fundings count
Funding amount
Funding %
If you are trying to charting grant, grantee or funding amounts, selecting one of the available options for charting will instantly generate a chart with those counts calculated for the tag you selected:
For example, to chart funding amounts associated with each of the selected tags, simply select "Funding amount" from the dropdown and your chart will refresh to include total currency amounts:
Beyond a standard grand and grantee analysis, you can also compare your tag data with other available fields, like Grant Country by selecting "Country" under grants from the Y axis dropdown.ย
Note: Selecting many multiple tags or entries might result in ImpactMapper taking a few seconds to load and render the chart.
Similarly, if you are trying to create a tags by country, you could first start with choosing an appropriate country under the "X axis" and an appropriate tags under "Y axis":
The resulting chart will look like this, showing a total of each of the tag occurrences related to that country:
โ
We can change this chart to show grant, grantee counts, percentages or funding amounts instead. You can also add another country or tag and flip axis to compare progress by country or indicator:
Switching between axis and chart types will allow you to find the best way to present your chart.
If you are finding that your columns are only shown in one colour, you might want to try switching axis or adjusting your chart colour settings.
Once you are done, you can export your chart in a preferred format.
