How do I use the Project Dictionary?

Use the Project Dictionary to rename your data.

Written by Alexandra Pittman

The default name of data uploaded to ImpactMapper is Grant and Grantee. However, you can rename them to adapt to your needs through the feature Project Dictionary.

Once you've renamed your data, you will see the changes on the data summary page, and in all of your charts and tables in your project.

NOTE:

  • Depending on the nature of your organization, you may not need to use this feature because you are only analyzing grants and grantees in your project.

  • This particular article is about changing the name of your data in a specific project. Note that the dictionary is also available in the Organization Settings if you need to change your data name across all your projects in your ImpactMapper account. (i.e., you call your grantee, 'Partner' and you call your grant 'Funding.'). Go to Manage Organization to change your organization settings.

To change the name of your data:

Go to the project on which you want to make the changes. Access the project settings by hovering over the project and clicking edit.

On the Settings page, go to Dictionary. Enter the name you want to assign to your grant and grantee. Click update once you're done.
