Summary: Overview

Summary provides an overview of all of your data with high level analytics

Written by Alexandra Pittman

The Summary page provides an overview of all of your data with high level analytics. At the top of your screen, you will find key information related to your funding and where you work and/or fund.

  • A Funding Information card appears on the left and a Global Map of that funding and work appears on the right.

  • Underneath this, if you have used the metatag function, then cards will be broken up by each metatag with the occurrences and percentages of all Tag groups and Tags that have been associated with it.

  • Quotes have their own card which you can find at the bottom of the screen.

You can recalculate data on the data summary page instantly by selecting from the Year dropdowns on the top left. The default view is that all years are selected. When you select a specific year, all data on the Data Summary page recalculates for that year or years only.

Funding Information Card

Demographic and funding information for your project is presented here. You can use the tabs to see additional information on: Funding, Regions, Locations, Populations, and Issues. Each of these tables show the breakdown for that category within the project and the years selected.

Global Map

The Global Map visual is an excellent way to see your reach, key issues grantees/partners focus on, and funding. This data comes from the grants data you entered. You can zoom into a certain region or country. When you hover over a country with your mouse, a pop-up box appears displaying the total funding amount and number of grantees in that country. If you click on the country, further country detail appears on the right side of the map.

Clicking on the map in the Data Summary page will take you to the Global Map page of your project. You can change the map’s appearance from the light color palette to the dark color palette or vice-versa. You can also apply labels to the map, edit and set the Title for the map, and download it in png, jpg, or pdf form.

Metatags

If users have applied Metatags, then cards appear below the Global Map with the frequency and percentages of all Tag groups and tags used in the analysis. All data that you have tagged or entered is automatically added to the Data Summary page after you tag/enter it.

On most of the cards, data is hyperlinked, so if you want to know which organization or individual has mentioned that particular issue, just click on the hyperlinked text and a modal will pop up highlighting the group(s) that mentioned the particular issue and in which report.

Quotes card

This card will always appear on the Data Summary if the user has saved quotes in a report. You can select between a single random quote being shown or all quotes in the project being shown through the toggle switch. You will also be able to filter tags by metatags and tags.
