How do I calculate reach in Reports using Tags?

Tags allow you to perform advanced calculations, including reach

Written by Alexandra Pittman

When attaching Quantity or Financial values to tags while tagging text reports or surveys, you can calculate both occurrence and the total reach amounts.

Most people use Tags to track multiple related variables (reach), such as the number of people reached by programs, annual revenues, people trained, number of resources delivered, medicines delivered, etc.

For example, when tagging a report, two instances of "Lives Saved" tag with Quantity values of ย 1,000 and 7,000 attached to each can be tracked and summarized as both:

  • 2 occurrences of ย "Lives Saved"ย

  • resulting in a 8,000 total

A summary of occurrences and total reach can be viewed in report summaries or used in creating charts. The summary includes tag groups and tags, average, range: min and max, and frequency.

To keep track of reach amounts (or financial data), specify Quantity or Financial values when tagging a report under the same tag. Once you are done, a summary of your Reach tags will be available under Overview. This data is also available in Charts if you'd like to create a chart based on the reach values.
